Dear Fellow Bloggers,
Not only do we keep the spirit of Santa alive every year, it cannot be denied that every office, work place and school does the secret Santa. I did it at my school, each form did secret Santa but only had a budget of £2 - £3. It's a little but pointless but that's my opinion.
Secret Santa only works if you are in a large group of friends, and you simply cannot afford to buy them ALL presents. Then it is the perfect idea! However, I always have to put up with the grumpy and pathetic people, who always put the name back into the hat because they "don't know what to get them" or "I don't like them THAT much". Honestly, it's like being with infants... it's too much hard work.
So, you could do what I did... didn't buy anyone anything. Haha! Well, call me Scrooge, but the idea of secret Santa caused a lot of trouble, and I simply didn't want to be involved. Though, later on, I discovered that a few of my so-called 'friends' did secret santa between them and hid the presents from other members of our group. So yeah, I have great friends.
I am not looking forward to Christmas this year, not because of the whole secret Santa thing, but this year my Mum had an argument with her Mum (being my Nanna). And then I had a huge fall-out with my Mommar (being Dad's Mum). The tradition is that we would spend Christmas day with my Nanna and Boxing Day at my Mommars. Well, I have no idea what we are doing this year! But it won't be a blast... far from it.
After watching the new Disney film "The Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens, I can see why Scrooge is always to grumpy.
Thanks, Clover Clark.
